Sweet Tamales with Requesón and Blackberry Jelly
Ingredients
For the masa:
1 lb maseca
1/2 lb butter
2 tbsp baking powder
2 tbsp vanilla extract
pinch of salt
1/2 lb sugar mix with a pinch of ground cinnamon
2 1/2 cups warm water
Corn husks
For the filling:
Los Altos Requesón
Blackberry jam
1) Mix all the ingredients of the masa adding little by little the warm water and the sifted masa.
2) Smear the masa on each corn husk. Add a bit of requeson and jam to the center, and close them.
3) Cook the tamales in the crock pot for 45 minutes at high pressure. Enjoy them hot.
