Panela Cheese With Oregano
Serves: 4 to 6
Ingredients
1 lb Los Altos Queso Panela
6 Cloves garlic, crushed
1/3 cup Olive oil
½ cup Corn oil
2 T Fresh Oregano, chopped
1) Cut the Los Altos Queso Panela into slices and then place in an earthenware or ovenproof dish.
2) Pierce the outsides of the cheese with a fork.
3) In a small bowl, combine the garlic, olive oil, corn oil and oregano until they are thoroughly blended.
4) Pour this mixture over the cheese. Keep refrigerated and covered for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.. During this time, baste the cheese with the oil 3 or 4 times.
5) Preheat the oven to 350°F.
6) When the oven is ready, bake the cheese for 15 minutes or until slightly soft.
7) Serve warm with crackers or sliced bolillos (hard bread rolls).
