Pineapple in Cinnamon and Anise Syrup
Serves: 4
Ingredients
1 cup Crema Mexicana Natural Los Altos
1 ripe pineapple
1½ cups of water
½ cup honey
½ cup grated piloncillo (unrefined brown sugar)
2 cinnamon sticks
2 star anise
1 teaspoon cider vinegar
1) Peel the pineapple, remove the core and cut into chunks. Place in a serving platter.
2) Bring the water to a boil with the honey, piloncillo, cinnamon, and star anise. Simmer for 30 minutes to make the syrup. Add the vinegar, let cool completely and then cover the pineapple with it.
3) Serve with Crema Mexicana Natural Los Altos.
