Fried Cheese
Serves: 2
Ingredients
2 cups Los Altos Queso Manchego or Queso Quesadilla, shredded
2 T Chopped cilantro
2 T All purpose flour
1 Egg
1 cup Seasoned bread crumbs
Enough oil for pan frying
1) Mix the Los Altos Queso Manchego or Queso Quesadilla with the cilantro and form 1 oz balls and flatten into cheesecakes.
2) Meanwhile separate the scrambled egg, the flour and seasoned bread crumbs into three separate bowls.
3) Making sure to coordinate a wet and dry hand, use the dry hand to pass a cheesecake into the flour.
4) Then using the same dry hand, drop the cheesecake into the egg mixture.
5) With the wet hand, cover the cheesecake with the egg mixture.
6) Then use the wet hand to drop the wet cheesecake into the bread crumbs. Use the dry hand to cover cheesecake with breadcrumbs. Reserve to the side and repeat with the rest of the cheesecakes.
7) In a shallow pan, fry the cheesecakes on both sides and in batches on medium heat at 375°F.
8) Once cakes are golden in color, remove with slotted spoon and place on paper towel lined plate to absorb any excess oil. Serve immediately with red or green salsa.
